Poet Billy Lamont and songwriter/musician Bill Poulos are pleased to announce a new poetry with folk music collaboration entitled "Hedge Of Thorns." There first CD/EP release together will be the self titled "Hedge Of Thorns" and will be released on Easter Sunday by KultureShift Music. KultureSHift Music morphed out of the electronic/ambient/world music, independent label Mannequin Oddio Media.

Billy Lamont said, "This CD had to be released on Easter Sunday as we celebrate the ressurection of Jesus Christ! The poetry and music on the "Hedge Of Thorns" CD is filled with new life blooming and reflects our deep faith in God as followers of Jesus Christ. As a matter of fact a lot of the poetry I recite is as Jesus speaking first person. So Lord have mercy on my soul as Bill Poulos and I walk reverantly on this sacred ground."

Nothing more to say now except I send love and prayers to his family and that I will miss him terribly."~

Our friend and my wonderful brother Larry passed away at 2:45 Sunday morning. My wife Kristin and I were with him, holding his hands and sitting in bed with him when his heart finally slowed to a stop. We spent this past week laughing, singing, and praying with him, and all the while he had us taking notes on new song ideas and instructions on how to continue his ministry and art.

Several of his friends got to come and visit with him in the last couple of weeks and were a great source of help and friendship to Larry. Ray Sievers, Derek Robertson, Mike Makinster, Jerry Albertini, Charles Thompson, Tim and Christine Gilman, Matt and Becki Simmons, Kerry Hopkins, and a few more. Thank you, guys. Larry appreciated your visits very much. And he greatly appreciated the thoughts, wishes, support and prayers that came from all of you Solid Rock friends on a daily basis. Thank you for being part of his small circle of friends over the years. Saturday afternoon he knew he was going to go home to God very soon and he dictated the following message to you while his friend Allen Fleming typed these words into Larry's computer:

I feel like a prize in a box of cracker jacks with God's hand reaching down to pick me up. I have been under medical care for months. My wounds are getting bigger. I have trouble breathing. I am ready to fly home.

My brother Charles is right, I won't be here much longer. I can't do anything about it. My heart is too weak. I want to say goodbye to everyone. In the past you have generously supported me with prayer and finance and we will probably still need financial help.

My plan is to be buried in a simple pine box with some flowers inside. But still it will be costly because of funeral arrangement, transportation to the gravesite, entombment, coordination, legal papers etc. However money is not really what I need, I want to say I love you.

I'd like to push back the darkness with my bravest effort. There will be a funeral posted here on the website, in case some of you want to attend. We are not sure of the date when I will die. Goodbye, farewell, we will meet again.

Goodbye, farewell, we'll meet again
Somewhere beyond the sky.
I pray that you will stay with God

FEBRUARY 1, 2008- THE OTHER PERSPECTIVE 777- U2 IN 3D AT IMAX THEATERS

Poet Billy Lamont said, "U2 In 3D" is a must see experience in IMAX format now if possible for you. Some of you may know that I'm sort of like a single parent with my 7 year old son Zion. Last Saturday Zion and I experienced the future of film in New York City in this sacred art sensorary experience of a film. Acquaintance/friend filmaker Mark Pellinton, who attended one of my early poetry readings at Kenny Castaways in about 1990 when he was doing MTV promos and the MTV show I was a big fan of called "Buzz," has always been one of my favorite Directors and Pellington and U2 did an amazing job! Not only was it one of the most amazing visual experience and cutting edge innovative films in my lifetime but the U2 concert filmed in South America was as brilliant as ever with U2 in top form. The spirituality and passion U2 expressed through the music, words and performance, that my seven year old witnessed, allowed us to discuss the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr, as a follow up to listening to his speeches together on Martin Luther King Day, discuss peace and war due to his strong connection with "Love And Peace" (it may have helped that his name was mentioned in the song as the Biblical 'daughters of Zion') and also overall human rights and living with love and passion. We even discussed Jesus due to the line 'to claim the victory Jesus won' in 'Sunday Bloody Sunday.' Of course Zion asked me to buy him an electric guitar after seeing The Edge play. I had walking pnemonia so the quality time with Zion and concert film gave me a much needed boost to my spirit. Zion is now asking me on a daily basis to be able to go see the new Scorcese film about The Rolling Stones due to him seeing the coming attractions. The Rolling Stones have always been one of my favorites but I told Zion he would have to wait a few years and that Dad would have to see those bad boys alone. Hahaha. Go see U2 in 3D! You need to!!! See you soon"

Poet Billy Lamont will give his annual poetry reading for Thanksgiving dinner with homeless friends as the guest's of honor in this amazing, compassionate church that runs the Operation Homeless ministry all year round for those who are in New York City and Long Islanders.

Lamont said, "I am very thankful for all the blessings God has bestowed upon me and the treasure that he has placed within me. It is, I believe 13 years now, I have been contributing my poetry to this Thanksgiving Dinner. It is a real pleasure for me and this year I will be bringing some free books along with me for the guests of honor. :)"

Poet Billy Lamont said, "As I mentioned on July 7th I will be releasing some video footage from my archives to youtube.com for you to check out and enjoy once a month. The first video is from 1988 with a band I was in called Walk On Water and the video is entitled "A Game Of Chess With Love."

Lamont continues, "Walk On Water was an independent East Coast band I formed in New York when I was very young. Walk On Water received national exposure when I appeared on the nationally syndicated "Religon And Rock" radio show in October 1988 and played Walk On Water music along with some of my inspirations. "Religon And Rock" originated out of the classic rock radio station WBAB FM that I listened to growing up in my hometown of Babylon/North Babylon, Long Island. The video "A Game Of Chess With Love" followed on the heels of this success and aired on various NorthEast of the U.S. cable television shows in late 1988 and early 1989."

Lamont continues, "When a friend from MTV liked the song and told me I could use his professional video camera for one day and another friend who was an upcoming video Director/Editor from MTV said that he was interested in doing the video I dreamed up the idea. I felt strongly to shoot the video on the same ground that there was a satanic ritual murder of a teenager in Northport, NY a few years before. The ritual murder was a big national news story all over the media. At the time of the murder I remember visiting this town several times and walking out on the pier and sharing my faith with people of the town. When the opportunity came to me to do the 'A Game Of Chess With Love' video I was living in East Northport and just thought 'I have to do this with Walk On Water on the same ground that this satanic ritual murder occurred and help show that the Spirit of God and Jesus and love is still alive and not just the spirit of death and satan and that Northport is such a beautiful town.' I thought 'Why is bad news good news in the media?' I think this video helped redeem that ground and helped restore some the dignity of that town. Of course good news was not that big news and the video and my comments were only covered in local Long Island media."

Lamont shares, "The 'A Game Of Chess With Love' song lyrics I wrote using chess as a metaphor for the games men and women play against each other in relationships carried over into the video script I wrote. I thought then and still think now that it is such a shame that many times love relationships today are almost like business contracts where you better do this for me to do that for you instead of lovingly sacrificing for the other person in compromise to meet their needs. Or worse yet destructive, selfish power struggles can develop in love relationships."

Billy Lamont finishes, "Walk On Water was Mike Cruz on keyboards/background vocals, Paul Dunkley on guitar/background vocals and Jeff Kozyra on drums. I was the lead singer. Mike Cruz and I are the most active band member of Walk On Water. Lamont continued, "As the first phase of 'The Other Perspective 777' I will be releasing a video to youtube.com from the first band I was in when I was a kid called Walk On Water and also choose a radio appearance from my archives to help share my roots with fans, friends and those who don't understand me. Poet Billy Lamont said, "I would like to share with you that I have been privately praying and dreaming up a new radio show entitled "The Other Perspective 777" for WLIX radio. I heard the call to debut this show on July 7, 2007, a day that I consider to be holy and celebrates God's holy numbers 777. :) However I have never received the telephone call to okay my pilot show and it is now early evening on July 6th. :( Not sure what is happening but I am sure the radio station is very busy. Unfortunately I was so excited about the show (I also desired to look after my personal life) that I left my entire summer open from tour dates nationally and so on starting at least a month ago, so I could focus the little energy I have left, after personal disasters, into the radio show. In short the vision for this show was to give a voice to the voiceless through spiritual, postmodern music and also conversation to help inspire reformation in this area. There is a spirit of religion, rather than spirituality and relationship with Jesus, in this region, that I have been battling against for many years. It manifests itself in bigotry towards artists, intellectuals, people that make music that aren't a part of certain church/Pastor conservative cliques or subculture. People forget that for example Gospel music came from black slaves and that God is the creator and has empowered us to create all kinds of music. Anyway God bless WLIX radio. WLIX currently reaches 2.5 million homes on Long Island, New York. Wish I had more exciting news. This show was really cool. I will be announcing some new News shortly. "EMPIRE STATE ROCKS" EVENT

Billy Lamont said, "Mike Peters of The Alarm is one of the greatest, most important songwriters/performers in the history of rock and roll. Mike is an even greater person and real friend. He is a beloved, true brother. Attending the 'Empire State Rocks' event at the Empire State building and after party at Terra Blues has moved and inspired me deeply like Mike's music and friendship has for many years.

Glory was in the air that day! Like God himself was smiling through the storm clouds of the most intense rain storm and most severe NorEaster that has ever hit the New York area. It felt like demonic principality's were being cast away and there thresholds were being broken in the New York area like never before. With the first notes of Mike Peters singing The Alarm hit song "Strength" on top of New York's tallest building, the Empire State Building, it was apparent and sensed by me that a new day was dawning and has arrived filled with hope and healing. It was only moments later that the mist and heavy clouds surrounding the observation deck would clear and you could see the amazing view from up there.

This Poet felt healing pulsating through his own boby and own being and spirit as I attended the event with the intention of lending a hand to help serve Mike, his family and his new foundation but I received much more than I gave. As I was on the top of the Empire State Building looking out over New York City through clearing storm clouds I pondered my own misfortunes in the past months/years that have touched every area of my life. Severe personal problems touching everthing I love and care/cared about- current health problems and ones that should have killed me in 2004, financial destruction and every other kind of attack to me, my family, and my few possesions and humble living space. &
